Among the main spray applications for Hydra-Cell pumps are cleaning and washdown, surface coating, fire suppression, gas cooling and conditioning, gas drying, machine tool coolant spraying, dust and odour control, membrane filtration, burner feed and spray drying.
With its unique seal-less design, simple compact build, energy efficiency, smooth flow, sustainable performance and low LCC, the Hydra-Cell is exceptionally versatile. It offers advantages over traditionally used alternatives in all these pumping tasks.
Spray cleaning is a typical example. In these systems it is becoming normal practice to reduce clean water consumption by using recycled water. Seal-less design enables the Hydra-Cell pump to deliver recycled liquids (which often carry particles) to be pumped reliably at high pressure without fine filtration. Filtering arrangements can be designed with the process in mind, rather than to protect the pump - saving the extra cost of the fine filtration needed by a pump with dynamic seals.
High pressure chemical cleaning is also easy and reliable, due again to absence of seals and also to the wide choice of materials for wetted parts.
For pumps used on intermittent duty, for example in fire suppression, any possibility of seizure through seal failure following a long period of inaction is eliminated.
In spray coating applications, very low-shear pumping action combines with virtually pulseless flow to make the Hydra-Cell an ideal delivery pump.
